Don Jazzy Launches 2027 Tech Scholarship With Up to 100% Tuition Support

Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy has announced a technology scholarship programme for 2027, offering selected applicants up to 100 per cent off tuition fees through a partnership with TS Academy.

The initiative is aimed at making technology and digital skills training more accessible to young people who want to develop practical abilities for employment, entrepreneurship and other opportunities in the digital economy.

According to the programme’s official website, applications for the 2027 intake are open, with eligible candidates able to choose from a range of technology and digital skills courses. The scholarship covers up to the full tuition fee, depending on the award received by each successful applicant.

The announcement adds to the growing involvement of Nigerian entertainers and public figures in initiatives that extend beyond music and entertainment into education, youth development and skills acquisition.

For young Nigerians who want to enter the technology sector but face financial barriers, the programme could provide an opportunity to begin training without paying the full cost of tuition.

Courses available under the programme

The scholarship covers several areas of technology and digital work. Listed options include artificial intelligence and automation, data analytics, cybersecurity, software development, data science, digital marketing, virtual assistance and project management.

Other available courses include product design, product management, content creation, DevOps engineering, graphics design, frontend development and backend development.

The range of options allows applicants to consider different career paths rather than limiting the scholarship to programming alone. Some programmes focus on technical development, while others cover digital communication, design, business operations and project coordination.

TS Academy states that most of the programmes are beginner-friendly. Applicants do not necessarily need previous experience in technology to apply, making the initiative potentially relevant to students and other people looking to change career direction or develop an additional skill.

However, the availability of a course does not guarantee that every applicant will receive a scholarship. The academy says applications will be reviewed to determine eligibility and the level of tuition support awarded.

Laptop and internet support

In addition to tuition assistance, the programme advertises 50 laptops for selected beneficiaries and data support for up to 500 students.

These benefits could be particularly important for applicants who have the motivation to learn but lack reliable access to the devices and internet connections required for digital training.

Nevertheless, laptop and data assistance are not guaranteed for every scholarship recipient. According to the programme’s website, additional support will depend on applicants’ eligibility, demonstrated needs and available resources.

Applicants who require this assistance can indicate their needs in the application form. The academy says selected beneficiaries will be contacted based on eligibility and the availability of support.

The distinction matters because the scholarship should not automatically be interpreted as a package that covers every cost associated with learning. The published terms state that successful applicants will still be required to pay an application fee, although scholarship recipients are offered a discount.

Candidates should therefore review the conditions carefully before submitting their applications, particularly if they need a laptop, internet data or other financial assistance to participate.

How interested applicants can apply

Applications can be submitted through the official Don Jazzy Tech Scholarship website. Candidates are required to provide personal and contact information, indicate their current educational or employment status, select a course and state their preferred learning arrangement.

The application form also allows candidates to choose between online, physical and hybrid learning options, where available. Applicants can indicate whether they need a scholarship and whether they would like job-placement support after completing their training.

The website lists February 28 and March 30, 2027, as preferred start-date options. Applicants should consult the official platform for the latest information on the intake and any changes to the schedule.
