Olamide Announces ‘Time & Space’ Album, Drops New Single ‘Burukutu’

Nigerian rapper and music executive Olamide has announced that his forthcoming album, Time & Space, will be released on November 16, 2026. The announcement comes alongside the release of his new single, Burukutu, which arrived with a music video directed by Nigerian filmmaker TG Omori.

The new album will follow Olamidé, the rapper’s self-titled project released in June 2025. The announcement has generated interest among fans eager to hear what the YBNL Nation founder has prepared for his next full-length release.

‘Burukutu’ introduces the upcoming project

Released on October 20, 2026, through YBNL Nation, Burukutu offers listeners an early taste of the forthcoming album. The track opens with the chant “Baddoo, we wanna party” before Olamide delivers his familiar Yoruba-infused verses over an energetic, celebration-focused sound.

The song takes its title from a traditional fermented grain drink consumed in parts of Nigeria. Its party atmosphere reflects themes of enjoyment, leisure and street culture, elements that have featured prominently throughout Olamide’s musical career.

TG Omori directed the accompanying music video, which combines striking sets, dancers and performance scenes. Olamide appears in a tailored suit and dark sunglasses in a red-lit corridor, while other sequences feature dancers in white outfits performing in an earthy courtyard. The rapper is also seen holding a saxophone, adding a distinctive visual element to the production.

A familiar presidential voice sparks conversation

Beyond its sound and visuals, Burukutu has attracted attention for incorporating a familiar remark by President Bola Tinubu. The sampled phrase, “enjoy your weekend,” gives the track an unexpected political reference.

The inclusion prompted reactions on social media. Presidential aide Dada Olusegun responded to a post praising the song with the hashtag #TheDealIsDone and fire emojis. His reaction added another talking point to the conversation surrounding the release.

The moment illustrates how Nigerian popular music can intersect with public conversations and political culture. However, the song remains a musical release, and the sample alone does not establish a broader political message from the rapper.

What fans can expect from ‘Time & Space’

Although the album’s release date and title have been confirmed, further details about its complete tracklist and guest appearances have not been fully announced. Listeners will have to wait for additional information to learn which artists, if any, will feature on the project.

Olamide has built a substantial catalogue across Nigerian hip-hop, Afrobeats and street-pop. His previous album, Olamidé, featured artists including Wizkid, Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn and Darkoo. The project demonstrated his continued willingness to work with artists from different parts of the contemporary Nigerian music scene.

He has also played a significant role in the industry through YBNL Nation, the record label he founded in 2012. The label has been associated with the growth of several Nigerian artists, extending his influence beyond his own recordings.

The upcoming release also follows Unruly in 2023 and Ikigai Vol. 1 in 2024. With Time & Space, Olamide is preparing to add another project to a discography that has evolved across different sounds and stages of his career.

As November 16 approaches, attention will remain on further album announcements and whether the project introduces new collaborations or a different musical direction. For now, Burukutu serves as the first confirmed preview of what fans can expect from Olamide’s next album.
