Odumodublvck Reveals Peter Obi Refused Business Class Upgrade, Became His Seatmate on Flight

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has sparked conversations on social media after revealing that he shared an economy-class flight with former Anambra State governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, disclosed the experience in a social media post on Friday, November 6, expressing surprise at seeing the politician travelling in economy class.

According to Odumodublvck, he had previously assumed that reports of Obi travelling on regular commercial flights were exaggerated.

However, his experience changed that perception when he discovered that the former governor was on the same flight and had no intention of moving to business class despite attempts by some passengers to persuade him.

The rapper eventually found himself seated beside the politician during the journey.

What Odumodublvck said about the encounter

Sharing his experience, Odumodublvck expressed surprise at Obi’s decision to remain in economy class.

In his post, the rapper wrote:

“I Dey Same Flight With Peter Obi Right Now. Baba Dey Fly Econs. I Think Say Na Myth. Dem Gatts Beg Am Make E Sitdown For Business. Now Na My Seat Partner 😁. Very Simple Man.”

His account quickly attracted attention, with social media users discussing the politician’s travel choices and what the encounter suggested about his personal lifestyle.

For many Nigerians, the story was particularly interesting because of the contrast between the public position Obi has held and his reported preference for regular commercial travel.

Nigerians react to the story

The revelation generated reactions across social media, with several users praising Obi’s decision to remain in economy class despite reportedly being offered an opportunity to move to business class.

Others viewed the encounter as another example of the former governor’s relatively modest public image.

The conversation also revived discussions about how Nigerian public officials and political leaders approach personal spending, luxury and the use of public resources.

However, the encounter itself was largely presented as a personal observation by the rapper rather than an official statement from Obi or his political organisation.

Peter Obi’s public image and political journey

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, became a major figure in Nigerian national politics following his participation in the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party.

His campaign attracted significant support, particularly among young Nigerians, and brought renewed attention to discussions about public spending, accountability and leadership.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Obi is seeking the presidency under the Nigeria Democratic Congress, with political activities and public engagements already intensifying.

His supporters have frequently highlighted his emphasis on prudent management of public resources and investment in productive sectors as important elements of his political message.

The latest encounter with Odumodublvck has therefore attracted attention beyond entertainment, with some Nigerians interpreting the story through the broader conversation about leadership, lifestyle and public accountability.

While a single flight experience does not establish a politician’s overall approach to public spending, the rapper’s account has added another moment to the growing public discussion surrounding Obi’s personality and political identity.
