Indian Police Arrest Three Nigerians and an Indian Over Alleged Drug Trafficking Network, Seize Narcotics Worth ₦212 Million

Indian police have arrested three Nigerian nationals and an Indian man over their alleged involvement in an organised drug distribution network operating across Delhi and the National Capital Region (Delhi-NCR), following the recovery of cocaine and MDMA valued at approximately ₦212 million.

The arrests were announced on Thursday, October 29, 2026, after officers of the Delhi Police Crime Branch reportedly uncovered an alleged network involved in procuring, storing and distributing illegal drugs through several associates.

According to reports, the suspects were allegedly involved in both wholesale and retail distribution of narcotic substances across different locations in the region.

The three Nigerian nationals were identified as Nnamdi Osita, also known as Johan Peter, 46; Victor Ocaforo, 33; and Obinna Mike Ernest, 32. The fourth suspect, an Indian national identified as Attar Singh, also known as Lucky, is 23 years old.

Police said the four suspects were allegedly residing in the Nilothi area of outer-west Delhi.

How the Arrests Happened

According to a senior police officer, the investigation began on September 25 after the Crime Branch received intelligence indicating that Nnamdi Osita was allegedly supplying cocaine and MDMA across Delhi-NCR.

Officers reportedly received information that Osita and his associates were planning to deliver narcotics near Shukar Bazar Road in the Chander Vihar area.

Acting on the intelligence, a police team moved to the location to monitor the suspected operation.

When officers arrived, they reportedly spotted Osita alongside two associates. The suspects allegedly attempted to escape into a nearby building after noticing the police team but were eventually apprehended.

A search conducted by the officers led to the recovery of suspected illegal substances from the suspects.

Drugs Worth Approximately ₦212 Million Recovered

During the operation, police recovered a total of 417 grams of MDMA, commonly known as Ecstasy, and 105 grams of cocaine.

According to the authorities, the recovered substances have an estimated combined value of approximately 1.5 crore Indian rupees, equivalent to about ₦212 million.

Investigators disclosed that 55 grams of MDMA were recovered from Osita, while 301 grams were reportedly recovered from Ocaforo. Police also seized 105 grams of cocaine from Ernest.

During subsequent questioning, Osita and Ernest allegedly revealed their connection with the fourth suspect, Attar Singh.

Following the information obtained during interrogation, officers reportedly tracked Singh to his residence in Nilothi, where he was arrested.

Police said another 61 grams of MDMA were recovered from his possession, bringing the total quantity of seized MDMA to 417 grams.

Nigerian Suspects Allegedly Overstayed Their Visas

Further investigations reportedly revealed immigration concerns involving the three Nigerian nationals.

According to the police, the suspects could not produce valid documents authorising their continued stay in India.

Authorities disclosed that Osita reportedly arrived in India in 2013 on a tourist visa, Ernest entered the country in 2016 on a business visa, while Ocaforo arrived in 2020 on a medical visa.

Police alleged that all three had overstayed their authorised periods of stay.

Consequently, Section 23 of India’s Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, was added to the case, alongside provisions of the country’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Previous Drug-Related Cases and Ongoing Investigation

Police also disclosed that the three Nigerian nationals had previously been linked to drug-related cases in different Indian states, including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Haryana.

Investigators further alleged that Singh initially became associated with the Nigerian suspects while purchasing drugs for personal consumption before eventually becoming involved in supplying substances to other users for financial gain.

The authorities are continuing investigations to identify other individuals who may be connected to the alleged distribution network and establish the full extent of its operations.

The four suspects remain accused in the case, and the allegations against them are subject to the ongoing legal process.
