VeryDarkMan Claims He Rejected Money Offered by Three Political Parties, Says He Cannot Be Compromised
The social media activist’s statement has sparked fresh discussions about political influence and independence among online personalities.

Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reportedly claimed that he rejected financial offers from three political parties, insisting that he cannot be compromised by politicians.
The outspoken activist made the statement in a comment circulating on social media, where he suggested that political interests had attempted to offer him money but that he refused to accept it.
In the statement attributed to him, VeryDarkMan said:
“I alone know the kind of money I have been offered by the three political parties, but I rejected it because I can never be compromised like the rest of you.”
The statement has drawn attention because of the activist’s reputation for publicly criticising political figures, government policies and individuals he believes are not acting in the interests of ordinary Nigerians.
VDM’s Position on Political Influence
VeryDarkMan has built a significant online following through videos addressing public issues, including alleged misconduct, consumer protection, government accountability and social justice.
His outspoken approach has made him a familiar figure in Nigeria’s social media space, particularly among audiences who follow discussions about political accountability and governance.
His latest alleged statement appears to reinforce his position that he wants to maintain independence rather than accept financial incentives from political interests.
However, the activist did not identify the three political parties allegedly involved in the offers in the statement circulating online.
He also did not publicly disclose the amounts allegedly offered, the individuals who approached him or when the discussions reportedly took place.
As a result, the claims remain unverified, and the identities of the political parties involved have not been established.
Previous Claims About Political Money
This is not the first time VeryDarkMan has spoken publicly about alleged financial offers connected to political activities.
In July 2026, the activist claimed that he rejected an alleged ₦50 million offer connected to campaigning for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
According to reports by Vanguard and TV360 Nigeria, VDM alleged that singer Davido and members of his team approached him about meeting the governor and receiving money in exchange for supporting his political campaign.
He claimed that he rejected the offer despite the amount involved.
VDM also linked the alleged incident to the deterioration of his relationship with Davido.
However, he did not provide independent evidence establishing that the alleged ₦50 million offer was made, and Davido had not publicly responded to the allegation in the reports reviewed.
Growing Questions About Political Influence on Social Media
The latest statement has brought renewed attention to the relationship between political parties and influential social media personalities in Nigeria.
With political campaigns increasingly taking place across digital platforms, influencers and online activists have become important participants in public discussions.
Their ability to reach large audiences makes their platforms potentially valuable for political communication, publicity and campaign mobilisation.
However, questions about financial incentives, political endorsements and the independence of online commentators continue to generate public debate.
For activists who regularly criticise government officials and political institutions, maintaining public trust can depend partly on transparency about their relationships with political actors.
VeryDarkMan’s statement reflects his claim that he has refused financial offers because he does not want to be influenced by political interests.
Nevertheless, claims involving alleged payments and political approaches require evidence before they can be treated as established facts.
Political Parties Yet to Be Identified
One major unanswered question surrounding the statement is the identity of the three political parties allegedly involved.
VeryDarkMan did not name the parties or provide details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged offers in the statement circulating online.
There has also been no independently confirmed response from any political party concerning the allegation.
Whether the activist will provide additional information, disclose the alleged amounts or identify those who reportedly approached him remains to be seen.
For now, his statement has added another development to ongoing discussions about political influence, social media activism and the role of online personalities in Nigeria’s political environment.
The claims remain those of VeryDarkMan and have not been independently substantiated.
