Detty December 2026: Davido, Wizkid and International Stars Set for Lagos Concerts

Lagos is preparing for another exciting festive season as Detty December 2026 approaches, with major concerts, international music performances and entertainment events expected to attract thousands of music lovers to Nigeria's commercial capital.

The annual festive celebration, popularly known as Detty December, has become one of Nigeria's biggest entertainment seasons, attracting Nigerians living abroad, international visitors and local music enthusiasts who travel to Lagos to experience concerts, parties and cultural activities.

This year's programme is already generating excitement, with Nigerian music superstar Wizkid and international performers including Brandy, Lil Baby and Kehlani featuring in announced concert programmes.

The growing list of events further strengthens Lagos' reputation as a major destination for African entertainment during the Christmas and New Year period.

Wizkid Set to Headline Detty December Fest

One of the major highlights of the 2026 festive season is the announcement of Wizkid as the headline performer for the opening concert of Detty December Fest.

The event is scheduled for Friday, December 18, 2026, marking the beginning of a 13-day festival expected to run until December 30.

The festival is organised by The 360Co, with Livespot as a partner. According to published event information, the organisers are preparing several days of entertainment, although additional performers and the final venue arrangements are still subject to confirmation.

Wizkid's involvement is expected to attract considerable attention from fans, considering his influence on Afrobeats and his international recognition.

International Stars Prepare for Lagos Performances

Beyond Nigerian performers, international musicians are also expected to contribute to the excitement surrounding this year's celebrations.

American R&B singer Brandy is scheduled to headline Flytime's House of R&B event on December 20 at the Eko Convention Centre.

Another major attraction is Coca-Cola Rhythm Unplugged 2026, scheduled for December 21, with American rapper Lil Baby and R&B singer Kehlani announced as headline performers.

The combination of hip-hop and contemporary R&B is expected to appeal to different audiences, particularly fans who follow international music alongside Nigeria's thriving Afrobeats scene.

However, concertgoers should follow official announcements for updates regarding supporting performers and any changes to event arrangements.

Davido and Other Nigerian Artistes Remain Major Attractions

Nigerian artistes continue to play a central role in the Detty December experience.

Davido remains one of the country's biggest concert attractions, with his energetic performances and international popularity making him a major name associated with Lagos' festive entertainment culture.

Alongside Wizkid, other Nigerian performers are expected to contribute to the season's entertainment activities through concerts, music festivals and special appearances.

However, individual performance dates and confirmed bookings should be distinguished from general expectations. Davido's specific Lagos concert appearance for the 2026 season should not be treated as confirmed without an official announcement from his team or the event organisers.

Economic Opportunities for Lagos Businesses

Beyond music and entertainment, Detty December has become an important period for businesses operating across Lagos.

Hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, event centres, fashion businesses and tourism operators often experience increased demand during the festive season.

The arrival of Nigerians living abroad and international visitors also creates opportunities for hospitality businesses and local entrepreneurs to benefit from increased spending.

For event organisers, the season provides an opportunity to attract sponsorships, promote Nigerian entertainment and showcase the country's creative industry to a wider international audience.

The growing number of international performers also demonstrates the increasing connection between Nigeria's entertainment market and the global music industry.

What Fans Should Expect

With several major events scheduled between December 18 and December 25, Lagos residents and visitors can expect a busy entertainment calendar.

The combination of Afrobeats, hip-hop and R&B performances is expected to make this year's celebration appealing to different generations of music lovers.

As the festive season approaches, organisers are expected to provide further information concerning ticket categories, supporting performers, venues and concert arrangements.

Music enthusiasts are encouraged to follow official event announcements and verify information before making plans.

With Wizkid, Brandy, Lil Baby and Kehlani already featuring in announced programmes, Detty December 2026 is building towards another major celebration of music, culture and entertainment in Lagos.

The coming weeks will reveal more about the complete lineup, but one thing is clear: Lagos is preparing for another memorable festive season.
